Ernie FossaOwner and Director of Teacher Training
Ernie, who founded Gramercy Pilates NYC in 2009, is an industry leader in Pilates education. He is an Owner and Director of Gramercy Pilates NYC and created and co-produced the world acclaimed Comprehensive Gramercy Pilates NYC Teacher Training Program. His passion for Pilates began over 20 years ago when began using it to rehabilitate a severe back condition. He received his Comprehensive Pilates Education from the Kane School in NYC. He’s been teaching Classical and Contemporary Pilates for over 15 years to clients that range from elite athletes to those who are post-operative. He has mentored numerous Pilates students in the Gramercy Pilates NYC Comprehensive Teacher Training Program and has guided many of them to become PMA Certified teachers. He is also Certified in Gyrotonic and the Core Align, has taught and participated in many Anatomy, Biomechanical and Advanced Teaching Workshops and has been a member of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) since 2009.
Tommy ReichlingOwner and Director
Tommy brings over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness fields as both a Pilates Teacher and Personal Training Specialist. He obtained his formal Pilates Teaching Education through the renowned Kane School of Core Integration and his certificate of Health/Fitness Personal Training Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). As a fitness professional, he has extensive rehabilitation and injury prevention experience working in several Physical Therapy Clinics. He is also a certified Boxing and Kickboxing Instructor with competitive ring experience and has prepared several athletes for competition in Football, Hockey, Kickboxing and Baseball. He is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received a degree in Economics, as well as a minor in Pre-Physical Therapy. Tommy has over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness fields as both a Pilates Teacher and Personal Training Specialist. Kim FieldingDirector of Teacher Training
Kim Fielding holds a certificate in both Balanced Body and The Method Pilates. She has been in the fitness industry for 25 years and has been teaching Pilates for over 10 of those years. She received her B.A. in Psychology and did a Master’s program at Springfield College in Health Promotion/ Wellness Management with advanced study in Counseling. She was a teacher in the Mind Body Fitness training program with other faculty members including Lesley Powell, Doris Pasteleur-Hall and Dr. Martha Eddy at Movements Afoot. She taught the Pilates repertoire and question & answer program to go along with the Physical Mind Institute, The Method Pilates certificate. She also taught students Balanced Body Pilates Repertoire on a weekly basis. She has specialized training in MS and Parkinson’s disease, Somatics, Laban and Bartenieff Fundamentals. Fielding studied in the Somatic Movement Teacher Training program, Dynamic Embodiment, with Dr. Martha Eddy.
Viktoryia KukandzinaExpert Pilates Teacher
Born and raised in Belarus, Viktoryia moved to New York in 2012 as a professional runway model. She got into pilates in 2015 and successfully completed Gramercy Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program. While in the program she developed good observational skills and built a deep understanding of balanced body development. Ever since her main focus was on Posture and Body Alignment. She is PMA certified pilates teacher, health coach, professional runway model and holds BA in Accounting and Logistics from Belarussian University of Transport.
Desi ChevallierExpert Pilates Teacher
Desi discovered Pilates a few years ago and after taking classes regularly, her chronic lower back pain disappeared and her core strengthened. She now swears by the Pilates method and aspires to help more people discover the power of a balance and contrology. Desi’s classes are focused on proper alignment, creativity and having fun. Rest assured, no class goes without a plank. Desi wants to be part of her students’ journey to freedom of movement and feeling stronger and better. Desi obtained her Pilates certification at Gramercy Pilates and is also PMA Certified Pilates teacher. She works as a consultant in the financial industry and holds an MBA from NYU.
Cassidy FormanPilates Teacher
Cassidy Forman is a Pilates Instructor trained through Gramercy Pilates NYC with a concentration on back pain and the role of sleep and stress to injury. She is also certified in the Melt Method and Z Health. Cassidy received her undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University and her Masters at Johns Hopkins, working in publishing and public policy before moving to Health and Wellness. Having lived in Paris, Washington DC and New Orleans, Cassidy enjoys incorporating repeatable and innovative movement into her client’s everyday life for the greatest possibility of health, relief and overall happiness.
Bonnie O'RourkePilates Teacher
Bonnie is originally from Michigan; graduating college at the end of 2014 and moving to the city a few months later. She's the artistic director of BOM DIGGS, a modern dance company and a current performer for Shawnbibledanceco. After joining the school of Gramercy Pilates in early 2018, she's excited to pursue dance from another direction.
Helen MangoExpert Pilates Teacher
Helen Mango began her Pilates journey 15 years ago as a participant. Her love of Pilates slowly grew into a passion and her decision to become a Pilates Teacher took flight two years ago. Helen researched other studios, she chose Gramercy because of its strong Teacher Training Philosophy. Helen believes that the best students of Pilates are those that really have a love of the technique and want to be continually challenged and also believe in a healthy lifestyle. Helen is married to the artist, Robert Mango and has worked and lived in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York all of her adult life. While raising her two, now grown, children, Helen worked at the non-profit organization Manhattan Youth. Helen looks forward to beginning a new career as a Pilates instructor at Gramercy.
Sarah GottfriedPilates Teacher
Sarah is a professional dancer and preschool teacher in New York. Pilates has provided a strong foundation within her movement practice and has helped her sustain injury prevention for the past 10 years. Sarah began studying pilates as a supplement to her dance training, but it has since blossomed into its own field through the teacher training program at Gramercy Pilates.
Hunter SturgisPilates Teacher
Hunter Sturgis began his Pilates journey while completing a BFA in Dance at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his pilates education from Gramercy Pilates NYC under the direction of Kim Fielding. Studying Pilates grew from a need in understanding the body, preventing injury, and living sustainably in the modern era.
Pilates became integral to Sturgis’ personal and artistic practice where physical awareness translates into emotional and mental well being, culminating in a holistic approach towards a healthier, more fulfilled self. Curiosity and play underpin Sturgis’ instruction as he addresses muscular/postural imbalances and deleterious patterns, helping his clients reach above and beyond what was thought possible.
Yuki HasegawaPilates Teacher
Yuki is a Pilates instructor, contemporary dance choreographer, and Thai Yoga Practitioner. She had performed professionally in musical theaters as a dancer in Tokyo for 7 years before she moved to NY in 1998. She obtained her MA in Dance and Dance Education at NYU, and was certified in Pilates through Kane School of Core Integration where she had taught as an expert instructor for 5 years. Currently, she teaches Teachers Training Programs at Gramercy Pilates. She is also a faculty member at Peridance Capezio Center, and teaches Pilates to many dancers all over the world.
Jessica Solorzano-PetersonLicensed Massage Therapis / Thai Massage
Jessica is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences specializing in Deep Tissue and Thai Massage. She has worked with private clients and spa clients with injuries, limited flexibility, and muscle tension.
Katie MilaniExpert Pilates Teacher
Katie is a graduate of Point Park University, where she received her BFA in Dance. As a supplement to her professional dance training, Katie has been practicing Pilates for 8 years. As a result, she has developed a better understanding and awareness of her body, as well as others. Her passion for helping others, along with her love of Pilates has inspired her to teach. Katie received her Pilates Certification from the Gramercy Pilates Institute and will also become certified through the Pilates Method Alliance, (PMA).
